I missed the first No Kings march. Well, that’s not true. I didn’t go because my cynical side said, “Let’s wait and see.”
What I saw was large numbers of American citizens exercising their right to peaceful protest. I was impressed by their spirit, their discipline, and their willingness to take a risk for freedom.
I wasn’t going to miss No Kings 2.
My Favorite Part
Lisa dropped me off a few blocks away from The Commons, a grassy area not far from Minneapolis City Hall.
And guess who was walking in front of me to the rally? Two Handmaids.
I was so thrilled to see them there as Lisa and I have had long discussions about how The Handmaid’s Tale represents christian (lower case intentional) Nationalists’ vision of the United States under their tender mercies. It’s exciting we have so many courageous women in America.
I hope you watched the whole video and caught the old ladies on the right hand side at the end. They were the most courageous people at that protest.
What are the odds they could have gotten away if ICE goons had raided the march and started tossing tear gas and firing pepper bullets? Especially with one of them in a wheel chair?
That’s the kind of courage Trump, Stephen Miller, and Russell Vought will never understand and don’t realize how afraid they should be of these people. Because these old ladies are going to bring those asshats down!
They certainly aren’t Trump’s people because his people are all COWARDS. JUST LIKE BONE-SPUR TRUMP!
I want to close with a short look at the front of the march as it was just starting…Trump and his trash should be very afraid. Just try and take the vote away from these people, Trumphole!
